A former employee at Griffin Mill Papermaking in North Carolina who recently told his story to Fox News is now a father.
“It was a huge deal,” Michael Griffin, who was working at the mill when he quit his job to pursue a life as a dad, said.
“My wife and I, we were on the brink of giving away our house.
We had three young kids.
We lost a ton of weight.
We were in great condition.”
The former Griffin Mill employee said his son was the first person he ever saw, even though Griffin Mill had a “pretty high” employee turnover rate.
“I just had my first son,” Griffin said.
“He was 3 and a half years old.
I got to see him a few times.
My wife and my son were at school together, and we went to see his father a few days after I was laid off.”
The father said he has had “a few conversations” with his son since leaving Griffin Mill.
“They’re both kind of confused as to why he left,” Griffin told Fox News.
“I think they both just think I lost a bunch of weight, but I’m not losing any more weight than I’ve lost since I started.”
He said his wife and children have not had any issues.
“We’re all on the same page.
I have two kids now.
I’m raising them as I would have with my wife, and that’s how I was raised,” Griffin explained.”
And I’m a big supporter of breastfeeding, because I think it’s good for babies.
So that’s kind of the thing I always talked about, and now that I’ve been able to share that with them and see that they’re loving it, they’re embracing it, I’m proud of that.”
As far as being a dad?
Well, I love my kids.”‘
